Pimp my ride

My kids are obsessed with our "skoooch". They
are always fighting over who gets to ride it and
for how long. The other day Charlotte "pimped"
it up a little by adding a chair, I guess for "a leisurely
stroll" She would just put her feet down on the
ground to stop.

I reminds me of when I was younger and would
do things that I would never do now....like
riding down the stairs in my sleeping bag

Small dog heat

Last night before I went to bed I went to check
my email and the news. I somehow stumbled
upon this little gem of piece. It is the "small dog heat"
in a surfing contest in California.

Does this dog have on a wig? Really?....not sure
what is going on.

The wipeout. I wonder if humans are allowed
to help take the dogs out and back in or if they
have to "doggy paddle" both ways

I am guessing the dogs think this is totally awesome
and are so glad their owners taught them how
to surf. A couple weeks ago we rented a Scooby
Doo Hawaii movie and in one part Scooby and
Shaggy were surfing and Shaggy says "I have
heard of hanging 10 but Like scoob, your hangin 20"

To my sister Linda...a JK livin update

I found this news update on People.com this morning

"Matthew McConaughey, hopping behind the bar and mixing up a vodka soda at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. When he wasn't playing mixmaster, or talking up his movie Surfer Dude, the actor relaxed in a poolside cabana and hit up the Moonstone Lounge at night. "

I couldn't decide on which MC photo to use, they
were both so hot. I found it appropriate though the
top photo was labeled "shirtless Matthew McConaughey"
as if he sometimes is actually wearing a shirt.

Rootbeer in all forms

Our family loves root beer. That was one hard
part of being in NC is that it wasn't as
available everywhere as it is here in Utah.
Those of you that live or have lived in
Utah know that the key ingredients to
the state are root beer, fry sauce,
ranch dressing and ice cream....very
healthy food. I have often heard people
who don't like root beer say it tastes
like toothpaste. The other day we were at the grocery store
and Charlotte saw this "root beer float"

and felt we needed to have it. They
came in a pack of 4. I am always
happy to experiment with different
types of rootbeer, but this was a little
sketchy. We came home and got out
our special rootbeer glasses, added
ice and took our first and only sip.
This drink is truly hideous to say the
least. The color itself is repulsive.
Even Charlotte and Simon thought
it was disgusting, which is a lot for
children who instantly love anything
with sugar and/or carbonation. In
this case I really don't think they
had anyone taste the drink before
bottling it up.

School has begun

Simon started preschool yesterday.
I was so sad because it is the first
time where he will be gone from me
on a consistent basis. He is so full of
anxiety I thought he would explode
but he ran right out of the car into
class. He put his bag on like a cape
and named himself "super Simon"
I explained that it probably isn't safe
because it could choke him and he just
said "why"

Here comes Charlottes bus this
morning. Her school is only 2 hours
on Fridays so I was not really
sad. M-T it isn't even 3 hours.

Forcing a smile......

The bus driver is a little freaky looking but
she was so excited. I followed the bus today
and when she saw me I got a bad look.

Back to School "Fancy" dinner

So my sister Linda and I stole a really cute idea
of having a "back to school" dinner the night
before school starts. I went to the dollar store
yesterday and let Charlotte pick out "Fancy"
glasses and we picked flowers, lit candles and Davey
brought out some classical music to set the mood.
Davey also bought yummy cupcakes & apple berry
champagne(virgin)

Testing out the fancy drink. Charlotte suggested
we do a toast. Not sure where she learned about
that.

Strikin a pose with the crown we made

Charlotte said Davey and I needed
to dress up so I got flowers and wings

ya, he wore this outfit all through dinner, including
the grease stains on his shirt

This is Simon's only dress-up, he loved pulling
out his "tiny ninja" costume.

Afterwards we went on a walk and my neighbor
asked if we went to back to school night....oops.
