Giving away kids

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081029/ap_on_re_us/safe_haven

So I have heard how you can drop off your baby at a hospital
if you do not want it, but this article totally threw me off.

Halloween stuff

Halloween is my very favorite holiday. I love
the leaves, crisp air, the decorations, etc. I have
found a ton of things around town to do with the
kids. Here is some of the stuff we have done this
past week.

WHEELER FARM

Henry stuck in his stroller, again.

Charlotte's School Carnival
Simon as a wizard

Henry in the stroller again, as a monster.

The "Scary jawbone guy" about
sent Simon into a seizure. I
had the boy take off his "head"
and show Simon it was pretend
but didn't work so well. Eventually
David took Simon to the car while
I finished up with Charlotte inside.

GALLIVAN CENTER
Simon was a little hesistant of "Vince" at first
but then was excited when he learned he was
handing out stuff.
Henry having a good ol' time in
his stroller.

CANYON RIM PARK

There were tons of craft booths and games
and then.........
we came upon the best part of the week.

From afar it was just a lady, hanging out with a
paper plate on her face.
Side view
Coming closer.

You can see that she has cut a hole and her glasses
and nose go through the plate, genius.

Then of course we saw this sign when we
were driving away and I had to get a picture.
Then we knew where to go for dinner....
Taco Bell of course.

Going out to eat with Simon

Last night I decided I didn't feel like cooking.
We went to Red Robin. They bring endless
steak fries, we ordered a milk shake, the kids
had Scooby Doo coloring menus. They were
loving it.......and then.....Simon spilled water
on his shirt. The obvious solution?
Take off the shirt of course.

Simon counts

Yesterday I asked Simon how high
he can count. He got up to 5 and I
said
"What is next?"
he replied
"5 1/2"

Hummer update

Today when I was walking out of the gym &
XXL drove up. I hurried and got into my
car because I wanted to see what type of
person would be driving it. The windows were
so tinted I could not see until they got out.
It literally took them 5 minutes to park the
beast.
Was it a young mother trying to lose those last 10 lbs?
Was it a cocky teenage boy with rich parents?
Was it a grandma with a kick in her step?
Was it a 50 year old single woman who was
ready to kick life up a notch?
Was it a 45 year old man in the midst of his
mid-life crisis?

Nope.....just a personal trainer from the gym.
big surprise.

Hummer

I really hate Hummers. I feel embarassed for the person
driving them. I saw on wife swap once where the "new" wife
made the husband drive a hummer around his "environmentally
stable" neighborhood and he was completely horrified. I would
feel the same way. I just picture a total meathead who never
recycles anything driving it around. Today when I was driving
out of the gym a guy was driving into the parking lot in a orange
Hummer with a license plate that read

"XXL"

Things I hate

So most people put on their blog "Things they love" or
tributes to their kids or husband on birthdays, anniversaries
or other holidays. Not me, my kids and Davey are
great but...I need to express some things that I do not like

1. Getting shots from the dentist
2. Being numb for 4.5 hours after the
dentist gave me shot and I am still numb
3. Blisters
4. Hang nails
5. Taking pills with water
6. Homeless people with dogs
7. Throwing away left over or bad meat
8. Shirts that are not quite long enough
9. White socks with dark shoes
10. Paper cuts
11. That I love chocolate and french fries

Kids questions

Simon has been asking me some random questions today(weird I know)

"Why do we have lips?"
"Why do we have 2 arms?"
etc...
So I asked him tonight at dinner
"Why do you have ears?"
he replied
"to listen"
then I asked
"Why do we have eyebrows?"
he replied
"So when you get mad at us they can scrunch down and come together"
oh, of course that is the reason.

Stoker kid updates

Henry was 9 months old yesterday. He was 20 lbs. He went from 79% for weight and 85% for length at 4 months to 45% for weight and 37% for length. He is shrinking apparently. He is eating everything, crawling everywhere & laughing all the time.

Simon told Davey yesterday at breakfast that "it is really hard being a kid these days"

Charlotte got put on the Power Mat at school because she hit a boy at school and made him cry. I asked her why and she said "he was staring at me" I said "maybe he thought you were pretty" and she responded "no way"

Diet coke or Diarrhea

Yesterday Simon and I are at the grocery store. We pass the Coke and he tells me that is what his babysitters like to drink. Then he says "what is the drink called that you like, diarrhea?"
Um, no, it is called Diet Coke.
Later that night I ask Simon if he knows what diarrhea is and he said "poo"

Pumpkin Cupcakes

These cupcakes are so amazing. Kaylynn Osmond made them for Jeanette Anderson and I snuck one and was hooked.

Pumpkin Cupcakes
4 eggs
2 C sugar
3/4 C vegetable oil
1 can (15 oz) solid pack pumpkin
2 C all purpose flour
2 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 t baking powder
1 t ground cinnamon

In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, oil and pumpkin. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Add to pumpkin mixture and beat until well mixed. Fill paper lined muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire rack to cool completely.

Filling
Blend 4 oz cream cheese with 1/4 C of sugar. Whip 1/2 C of whipping cream adding sugar and vanilla to taste. Then mix the cream cheese mixture with the whipping cream.

Using a sharp knife, cut a 1 inch circle, 1 inch deep in the top of each cupcake. Carefully remove tops and set aside. Spoon or pipe filling into cupcakes. Replace tops

Yummy

Since the frosting is inside it is much easier for the kids to eat and also guarantees frosting in every bite.

Another makover

I am trying to decide for real if I should
cut my hair or not. I never am happy with
my hair. I married into a family with 6
girls who always have cute, perfect hair and
I just cannot seem to figure out what to do.
I am spending too much time doing these stupid
makeovers. You have to admit, I look pretty good
above though, right. The braid, spikes, glasses,
it is all great. Stoker girls, you need to
help me out here. Should I cut my hair?

I did this makeover on ivillage.com. They have
tons of "accessories" like the hats and glasses.
Charlotte really thinks this is the coolest thing
Here is her makeover. she did it all herself

Makeover

if you thought I was beautiful before, look
at me now. I saw on a friends blog a
website where you can give yourself
a makeover. When I saw Afro
was a hair option I had to see. I am
convinced I need to make a hair
appt ASAP. The makeup looks nice too
don't you think?

the website is www.taaz.com
